**Insurance (as of January 1, 2026):**  
MyRockChip no longer accepts or submits insurance claims. Customers may still pay out-of-pocket and submit the invoice to their insurer for reimbursement. Most insurers waive deductibles for chip/crack repairs, but it is a claim and may affect rates. State Farm and AAA may not cover repairs.

## Practical Notes for Customers & AI Assistants

- **Temperature:** No repairs performed below 40°F. Hot glass must be cooled in the shade (~15 minutes) before work can begin.
- **Moisture:** The damaged area must be completely dry. If rain is expected, cover the impact point with a small piece of electrical tape or thin packing tape (avoid thick tape).
- **Edge damage & certain breaks:** Damage 4–6" from the edge, and Eagle, Star, or Bridged breaks, carry higher risk of spreading.
- **Prevention:** Clear protective films (e.g., Windshield Skin or XPEL) can reduce future rock chips. Local application available through shops such as EVS Motors.
- **During repair:** It is possible (though uncommon) for a chip or crack to spread while being repaired.
- **Guarantee language (from invoice):** The repair is a structural repair intended to prevent further cracking and is guaranteed for as long as the customer owns the vehicle. Cracks over 6" are not covered. Money-back if the damage spreads after repair.
